FAQ's
How does activepassport work?
activepassport allows anybody to set up their own skills and qualifications passport online to help them keep a record of all of the training and skills they acquire throughout their lifetime. Each passport becomes more valuable as it becomes verified by employers or other organisations that are registered as Skills Passport Verifiers.
How much will it cost me?
activepassport charges a nominal £10 per year for hosting your passport. This allows you to update your passport with an unlimited number of skills or qualifications.
How can I pay?
When you apply for your Skills Passport you will be required to submit credit/debit card details against which your Skills Passport fees will be charged. In some cases, employers may offer to pay for your passport if they have provided training, in which case they will be charged directly when they create your passport.
How can I get my Passport verified?
You can get your passport verified by taking the certificates or documentation supporting your ID, skill or qualification to your employer or other registered verifier.
How can I find out if my employer is a registered verifier?
Log in to activepassport and go to your account page and click on "My Passport". You will see a link to "Registered Verifiers". Click on the link and you can search for your employer. If your employer is not listed you can introduce them to Skills Passport and receive credits on your own PurplePassport account.
How can I get my employer to become a Registered Verifier?
Simply alert your immediate manager or HR manager to activepassport and ask them to register. A downloadable form is available.
How can I get my passport verified if my employer is not a registered verifier or I am not currently employed?
If either your employer is not a registered verifier or you are not currently employed you can still get your passport verified by any number of other registered verifiers such as your local job centre, most colleges and universities. To find out where you can get your passport verified closest to you, simply click here
Who can set up a Passport?
A passport can be set up by either an individual, an employer or organisation who is a registered verifier.
How can I get my photo on my activepassport Passport?
Your Skills Passport cannot be verified and your Skills Passport ID card cannot be sent to you until we have received a photo of you. There are three ways you can provide us with your photo. In most cases an applicant will attach their photo to their application as part of the application process. However, you can also send a photo by email to: Distribution@PurplePassport.com or you can send a photo along with your written application directly to PurplePassport Ltd.
What is "My Goals"?
Every passport holder has a 'My Goals' function which is accessible from their 'My Passport' page. My Goals allows you to set up a personal development plan by setting out your goals and then breaking them down into manageable milestones. Skills Passport will then assist you by emailing reminders to prompt you to take the appropriate action at the right time to ensure you stay on track and achieve your personal targets.
